Message from Jo Myles, Chair of Ditchling Museum of Art & Craft:
Dear all,
I wanted to let you know in advance that Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft will pause public opening from 23 February.
This is a planned and temporary closure to allow time to reflect on the focus of our work in response to significant changes in the economic context for museums over the past decade.
Rising operational costs and changes in visitor patterns linked to the increased cost of living mean this is the right moment for Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft to pause and plan its next phase.
I want to reassure you that the Museum remains active, with Trustees, staff and advisors working together on next steps, our collections are safe and cared for, and the intention is to strengthen the Museum's future.
We will be sharing a short public statement via our website, newsletter and social channels. For now, I wanted you to hear directly from myself and on behalf of the Museum, in recognition of your relationship with the Museum and the support you have given us.
Thank you, as ever, for your care for Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft. If you have questions or would like to talk further, I would be very happy to do so.
With warm regards,
Jo Myles
