Repainting of road markings at Ditchling mini roundabout

17 Jun 2017

We are very grateful to Marianne from The Green Welly for getting E Sussex Highways to agree to repaint the almost non-existent road markings at the mini-roundabout in the centre of the village. The work is due to commence within 28 days from 12 June.

As Michelle says:  “Hopefully this will avoid a recurrence of the incident which occurred a few weeks back when a car ended up on the front porch of the Green Welly cafe.”

Here is the email exchange that Marianne has had with E Sussex Highways:

Dear Mr Smyth

Thank you for your prompt action.

We are so pleased that the work will be carried out out-of-hours to avoid any more traffic chaos than usual!

Kind regards

Marianne Bole

Good Morning, I’ve taken a call from Marianne Bole today regarding safety at the mini-roundabout in Ditchling. Her business, The Green Welly Café, was damaged in an accident last week as a vehicle failed to give way at the roundabout and she is reporting that the centre dome, give way lines and give way signs are all in a very poor condition.

Please would you arrange for this to be inspected and then contact her to let her know the outcome of the inspection.  Her contact details are  T: 01273843154 M: 07711665133 E:

I have copied this email to her so she has a record of the report in case she needs to contact you in the future.

Thank you
