The Ditchling Society have provided an update regarding the planning application for a Rugby Pitch on the Keymer Fields, which is to be heard by SDNPA Planning Committee on Thursday 9.2.17. (The application reference is SDNP/16/05154/FUL.)
There has been an emotive response to the application with many submissions both in support and objection. Ditchling Parish Council and Hassocks Parish Council have both objected, as have the Management Group compiling the Neighbourhood Plan, and the South Downs Society.
The Case Officer's report, which is considered in detail, recommends "that planning permission be granted on a temporary basis to allow for use not exceeding four years and in accordance with conditions set out in the report".
The Ditchling Society will be speaking in objection to the Application and the Case Officer's recommendation at the meeting, believing that this sensitive site separating Ditchling from Keymer should be protected and that once granted, change of use is unlikely to be reversed.
All submissions can be found on the SDNPA planning website quoting the application number and the Case Officer's report on this link.
