Ditchling Horticultural Society

Ditchling Horticultural Society is for everyone who loves to grow and show flowers, fruit and vegetables. It is one of the oldest Horticultural Societies in the country, founded in 1822.

Membership is currently only £3.00 a year (£5.00 joint). Membership benefits include: a loyalty bonus card for South Downs garden centre, free entry to RHS Wisley on our annual outing, and free entry to the society’s Shows.

We hold three of these Shows a year – Spring, Summer and Autumn – with classes for vegetables, flowers, floral art, cooking, photography and crafts, as well as children’s classes. DHS members and their children are encouraged to enter for the shows and so help us maintain this lovely village tradition.

The Society also owns and runs the village allotments at North End. Allotments vary in size, including small plots for beginners.
